Our new project will reflect the sweet/ funny/ tragic/awkward/banal /romantic and just plain bizarre experiences of LGBTT travelers. Never been farther than Oshawa? No problem! We want to hear about all kinds of trans-cultural experiences, regardless of whether they occur on another continent or a short bus ride away.
Some suggested topics include: finding community; falling in love in a foreign language; dealing with homophobia, isolation and culture shock; reevaluating your own culture in the midst of another; and coming out to new friends.
We’re looking for fiction, non-fiction, B&W photography and artwork. Manuscripts should be no longer than 3,000 words and should be sent in MS Word format; photographs and artwork should be sent in high-resolution TIFF format (300 dpi or higher). Please send submissions to: outofplace@homosaywhat.ca

Coming out is all well and good, but what happens next? Applause? Rejection? Clarity? Confusion? Random hook-ups and sex with strippers, or moving in with your girlfriend and living as the straight folks do? All of the above, it turns out. And ever so much more.
We’re Here, We’re Queer, We’re Used To It is a whirlwind tour through the lives of 11 young emerging authors and artists from across Canada and the U.S.
